In many cases, maybe even most cases, I will agree. But that is defintely
not the case for ALL websites. Some sites have mixed visitors (repeat and
one-time) and some sites may cater primarily to the one-time visitor. An
example is a website that contains photos and information about a specific
town. This town may be popular with business travelers or vacationers. If I
am visiting this town on business, I may visit the site to find out what
there is to do there. After my trip, I may never have a need to visit that
site again. Not because it's a poorly designed site -- it may be of
world-class design -- nor because it didn't provide the information I was
looking for, but because I had only a one-time interest in what the site
offers. For a site like that, the number of page views or unique users is
much more significant than the number of repeat users.
