————————— WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION ————————-
Textbooks have evolved over the last several decades in many aspects. Most textbooks
can be accessed online, many of them freely. They often come with libraries of
supplementary educational resources or online educational services built on top of them.
As a result of these enrichments, new research challenges and opportunities emerge that
call for the application of AIED methods to enhance digital textbooks and learners’
interaction with them. Therefore, we ask: How to facilitate the access to textbooks and
improve the reading process? What can be extracted from textbook content and data-mined
from the logs of

Due to concerns about COVID-19, RecSys 2020 will cancel its physical component and go fully virtual. To support authors through these stressful times, deadlines are extended.

RecSys also strongly encourages the submission of algorithmic papers that repeat and analyze prior work. We distinguish between:
* replicability papers, which repeat prior experiments using the original source code and datasets to show how, why, and when the methods work (or not); and
* reproducibility papers, which repeat prior experiments preferably using the original source code in new contexts (e.g., different application domains and datasets,

Dear all,

Due to the current Covid19 situation, PSD 2020 will be a hybrid of in-person and online conference or a fully online conference in the originally scheduled dates of Sep. 23-25, 2020. Whereas the on-line meeting will be held in any case, in July we will announce whether the in-person meeting is maintained; if it is, the in-person meeting will take place in Tarragona (Catalonia) rather than in the original venue of Arezzo (Italy).

We are happy to announce the starting of our NeurIPS 2020 3D + texture

What is the competition about?

Humans are important targets in many applications. Accurately tracking,
capturing, reconstructing and animating the human body, face and garments
in 3D are critical for human-computer interaction, gaming, special effects
and virtual reality. In the past, this has required extensive manual
animation. Regardless of the advances in human body and face
reconstruction, still modeling, learning and analyzing human dynamics need
further attention. In this competition we plan to push the research in this

** IMPORTANT NOTE **
Due to concerns about COVID-19, RecSys 2020 will cancel its physical component and go fully virtual. To support authors through these stressful times, deadlines are extended.

Demos show implementations of novel, interesting, and important recommender systems' concepts or applications. Allowing potential users to see and use a demo of a research work makes them excited about it – it makes the work real and tangible. Demos also allow developers from small start-ups to large industries to present new recommender ideas and get valuable feedback from the recommender systems community.

EMPATHY: Empowering People in Dealing with Internet of Things Ecosystems
www.empathy-project.eu/workshop/ <http://www.empathy-project.eu/workshop/>
September 29th, 2020
Island of Ischia, Italy

OVERVIEW
In the last decade, the spreading of low-cost technologies integrating
sensors and actuators has favored the development of the so-called smart
objects. This trend has been further fostered by the Internet of Things
(IoT), which connects the physical world with Internet via ubiquitous
sensors and actuators. The opportunities offered by the IoT are
amplified by the use of new approaches that, based on novel interaction
paradigms, involve directly non-technical users in configuring the joint

In these challenging COVID-19 times, the question on how to deal with democracy during a pandemic has been raised by several voices. We consider that keeping the conference, albeit in digital format, is not only an academic responsibility, but also responds to the need for an active focus on electronic voting by facilitating high quality debates and responses.
