Dear Colleagues,

I'm one of the principal investigators of a seed-funded project that combines the expertise of philosophers, psychologists and data scientists in a bid to understand (via experimental studies) how students learn logical skills, how their learning strategies evolve over time and the optimal way to acquire such skills.

We are currently in the design phase of the project and would love to get our hands on as many references to existing experimental or observational studies on logic learning, particularly propositional and first-order predicate logic. Any suggestions would be very much appreciated. As always, please reply off-list to:

Abstract

This book develops an appropriate common language for truly
interdisciplinary teams involved in design. Design now has many meanings.
For some, it is the creation of value. For others, it is the conception and

Dear All,

I would like to draw your attention to a CFP for the Technology and Aging Special Collection in the SAGE Journal Gerontology and Geriatric Medicine (GGM):

Overview

For the aging population, technology is a double-edged sword. On the one hand, the rapid pace of development and change can make it difficult for older adults to learn new technologies, while the world's increasing use of and dependence on smart devices and digital technologies leaves those who struggle to adapt at a distinct, isolated disadvantage. On the other hand, technologies geared specifically towards an increasing, aging population contribute to increased

It also allows you to analyze how your participants have sorted their cards, and filter by similarity or identify any statistically-significant groups of participants.

This course is yours permanently on any computer/laptop/pad/smart phone

Multisensory HCI”
San Jose, CA, USA, 7th or 8th May 2016

touch, whilst taste and smell remain largely under-exploited. In spite of
our current knowledge about sensory systems and sensory devices, the
biggest stumbling block for progress concerns the need of a deeper
understanding of people’s multisensory experiences in HCI.
This one-day workshop will offer an interdisciplinary

*Linear Mixed Effects Models with R *

https://www.udemy.com/linear-mixed-effects-models-with-r/?couponCode=OCTFOR10

*Linear Mixed-Effects Models with R* is a 7-session course that teaches the
requisite knowledge and skills necessary to fit, interpret and evaluate the
estimated parameters of linear mixed-effects models using R software.
Alternatively referred to as nested, hierarchical, longitudinal, repeated
measures, or temporal and spatial pseudo-replications, linear mixed-effects
models are a form of least-squares model-fitting procedures. They are
typically characterized by two (or more) sources of variance, and thus have
multiple correlational structures

StrepHit is a Natural Language Processing pipeline that extracts
structured data from raw text and produces Wikidata [1] statements with
reference URLs.

StrepHit will be part of *Google's primary sources tool* [2, 3]: the
goal is to provide a standard workflow for data donations to Wikidata.

A *Wikimedia IEG project* has been proposed [4] for the implementation
of StrepHit.

Visualization has become a valuable means for data exploration and analysis.
Interactive visualization combines expressive graphical representations and
effective user interaction. Although interaction is an important component
of visualization approaches, much of the visualization literature tends to
pay more attention to the graphical representation than to interaction.

If you work with data and numerics in any fashion with R, it would help you
to learn more about Multivariate Data Visualization using the lattice
package in R. Deepayan Sarkar's excellent work porting over the "trellis

Labs into the lattice package in R enables the rich, innovative and
powerful visualizations of data in 2, 3, 4, or more dimensions through the
use of conditioning and panel functions.
