Funny you should mention it, Sun provided me with a Sparc system when I
just gave them wind of the fact that I was considering doing a document
management system for the company I was with at the time in Java as an
incentive. I ended up refusing the machine and did the project in
Python.

And so "Programming in GNAVI" was born. The IDE is now working and some
basic RAD in place (screen shot on http://www.gnavi.org), I'll have the
classic VB/Delphi style layout of graphical controls rolling in the
next few weeks. Once that is in I am starting to invite people from
other language environments to start looking at "Programming in GNAVI"
where you get an Open Source alternative to Delphi and a more powerful
underlying language.

The way to a geeks heart is through his desktop... the way to project
lead and manager hearts is for enough excited geeks to sneeze on them
with their viral excitement for something... and so C++ was born and
prospered. It is my small minded nearly if not completely, worthless
opinion that the Ada world wake up soon to this formula before a virus
with corrective DNA won't even help to make some geeks say cool...

Thanks for the mention of GNAVI!

The ICG (the Interactive Code Generator) that runs under the GNAVI IDE
to make the RAD flow happen is all XML driven.

Perhaps at some time in the future an experiment using something like
XSLT could be done to change x-forms XML to something the ICG could
use.
