I think we can do without snarl-words in this discussion,
*don't you, you commie pinko rat b-----d?

I happen to believe that the "socialistic" aspects of the
GPL are -- nope. Almost bit. I'll reluctantly pass up this
opportunity to discuss whether the GPL really "is" socialistic.
You can get me back into the discussion, though, if you'll
first demonstrate in a way that will convince everyone that
the Eucharistic element of the Host really "is" the body of

I.e., I don't care for discussions of what the definition
of "is" is. I will merely point out that snarl-words are
the sounds an ox makes with it's being gored -- pretty good
signs that an (undisclosed) interest is being defended --
though, naturally, all kinds of people might pick up on that
FUD campaign's slogans, not just people with their own axes
to grind.

Anti-corporate is neither anti-property nor anti-American.
It is simply anti-corporate, and a sensible antidote to the
virulent corporatization virus that's infecting most of what
we hear, see, and choose. We hear of the GPL being viral.
We don't hear so much about corporatism being viral, and
that's every bit as true, imho.

I'm sure there are folks who believe that we're much better
off with Wal-Marts instead of small-city downtowns, McDonald's
instead of Buford's Hamburgers, Britney Spears instead of
Mendelssohn, and Microsoft instead of, well, everybody. But
please don't assume everybody who believes differently (even
folks like me who want to replace "instead of" with "alongside")
is a bomb-throwing anarchist.

Or to say it shorter, as I should have done in the first
place, name-calling has very little place in a technical
discussion, imho.
