Richard says ". . . insist that any C++ compiler be held to the same
standard they would expect for Ada. Demand that it be validated against a
C++ conformance suite prior to being accepted for use on the project."

And there is at least one C++ conformance suite (from Plum Hall -- and note
that Tom Plum is the convener of the WG for C++). And there is at least one
organization that will "validate" C++ compilers (the EDS Conformance Testing
Center). But we have had zero compiler publishers interested in such.

Unfortunately, it no longer seems to be the case that customers (DoD or
otherwise) insist on validation of their Ada compilers either, so maybe they
are applying "the same standard" to C++.
