1. What is EuroSPI ?

EuroSPI conferences present and discuss practical results from improvement
projects in industry, focussing on the benefits gained and the criteria
for success. Leading European industry are contributing to and
participating in this event. This year's event is the 10th of a series of
conferences to which countries across Europe and from the rest of the
world contributed their lessons learned and shared their knowledge to
reach the next higher level of software management professionalism.

EuroSPI is a partnership of large Scandinavian research companies and
experience networks (SINTEF, DELTA,STTF), QinetiQ as one of Europe's
largest research centers, the ASQF as a large German quality association,
the American Society for Quality, and ISCN as the coordinating partner.

2. Key Notes

Peter Prestele, Director Business Integration EMEA, IBM, Europe,
Business Integration reduces your costs and improves your IT processes
As Director Business Integration EMEA for IBM, Peter Prestele is
responsible for sales, services and strategic development of IBM's
Business Integration range in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. The
product range includes CrossWorlds, MQ Workflow, B2B Connector and MQSI
integration solutions. In January 2002 he joined the IBM Software Group
during the course of the acquisition of CrossWorlds Software by IBM.


Prof. Hermann Maurer, Head of IICM, Head of HMS (Joanneum Research), Chief
Scientist Know Center, Austria, IT oriented aspects of KM (Knowledge
Management) to increase efficieny in organizations and enterprises.
Full Professor at the Graz University of Technology since 1978, since
October 2000 also Dean of Studies for Telematics. Project manager of a
number of multimillion-dollar undertakings including a patent for optical
storage device, the development of a colour-graphic microcomputer (MUPID),
an electronic teaching experiment COSTOC, multi-media projects such as
"Images of Austria" (Expo'92 and Expo'93), various electronic publishing
projects such as "PC Library", "Geothek", "J.UCS" and "Brockhaus
Multimedial"; responsible for the development of the first second
generation Web Based Information System Hyper-G, now Hyperwave and the
eLearning Suite (eLS), a modern net based teaching platform, participation
in a number of EU projects (e.g. LIBERATION, HYMN, EUROPE-MMM, HYPDOC,
EONT and others) and MIRACLE.

3. Social Highlights

EuroSPI 2003 will be organised in a historic place in Graz as the cutural
capital of Europe 2003. The academy of music and dramatic arts will offer
a premium environment with conference halls in Baroque style and at the
same time with up-to-date technology and equipment. The governor of Styria
will provide the Graz castle and the industry representative of the
country of Styria will hold a key note in the castle at the EuroSPI social
event. Also the Graz University of Music and Dramatic Arts will offer a
selection of classical music during the social event at the Graz castle.

The conference offers 10 half day tutorials, 5 in the morning and 5 in the
afternoon. Participants book for the tutorial day and can freely walk
