Forgot to mention ... the words are taken literally from a Lockheed Martin
PR News release ... they are not mine (aside from the mention of the
Defense Daily link at the end).

From Lockeed Martin PR News --
Microsoft Joins Lockheed Martin CVN-77 System Team
==================================================

Lockheed Martin has added software giant Microsoft to the systems
integration team supporting CVN-77, the last Nimitz-class carrier by Newport
News Shipbuilding [NNS] (more), according to a Lockheed Martin statement.
CVN-77 is viewed by the Navy as the bridge to an entirely new class of
aircraft carriers. Its warfare system will be among the most advanced in the
Navy.

Microsoft will be charged with the information infrastructure and
architecture definition for CVN-77's information technology [IT] capability.
The CVN-77's IT infrastructure will be based on the Windows 2000 operating
system. (Defense Daily)
