The next INTERACT conference will take place in Tokyo Japan on 9-13th
July, 2001.
This announcement is coming very late. I am not involved in
organizing the conference, but noticed that unlike previous years, it
seems not to have been announced here. INTERACT is a major biannual
HCI Conference -- in 1990 CHI and INTERACT worked together to produce
INTERCHI'93 in Amsterdam.
The reason for mentioning it now is that the deadline for submissions
of papers (and tutorials, etc.) is November 30. Because CHI 2001
could accept fewer than 20% of the almost 400 papers submitted, there
are many papers with reviewer comments for revision that might be
appropriate, as well of course as other work in progress.
The URL is below, followed by a description of the conference.

INTERACT 2001 is hosted by Information Processing Society of Japan and
Human Interface Society under the auspices of IFIP TC13 on
Human-Computer Interaction and is the ninth international conference
in the series. It is concerned with the research, practice and
teaching of Human-Computer Interaction (HCI). The INTERACT conference
series provides an international HCI forum where people, with
interests in understanding and improving how people interact with
computers, can come together to share their work and exchange ideas
and visions for the future.
The INTERACT series of conferences is truly international.
Participants normally come from about 30 or more countries. Papers and
other forms of presentations are selected from a wide range of topics
and many cultural and workplace perspectives.
The INTERACT 2001 Conference Committee is working hard to create a
conference that is significant for experienced HCI professionals and
for people who have discovered the field of HCI more recently.
