SoftVis'06 : Call for Posters

Due date: June 20, 2006

We invite you to submit a poster for presentation at the 2006 ACM
Symposium on Software Visualization (SoftVis'06) to be held
September 4-5, 2006 in Brighton, UK.

Keynote speaker Ron Baecker's "Sorting out Sorting" video will be awarded
to the best poster presentation.

This poster session provides an opportunity for participants to present and
discuss their research.

Poster presenters will first present their work in a session consisting of
5-minute "lightning talks".

During the poster session itself, SoftVis'06 and VL/HCC attendees will visit
the posters and talk with presenters about their research.

Two-page poster abstracts (in two-column ACM format) will be included in the
hard-copy proceedings.

Software visualization encompasses the development and evaluation of
methods for graphically representing different aspects of software,
including its structure, its abstract and concrete execution, and its
evolution. The goal of this symposium is to provide a forum for
researchers from different backgrounds (HCI, software engineering,
programming languages, visualization, computer science education) to
discuss and present original research on software visualization.

Poster presentations describing research in the following areas are
welcome:

 * Visualization of algorithms, including numerical, geometric,
   genetic, distributed and graph algorithms

 * Visualization in software engineering, e.g. UML diagrams

 * Visualization-based software in computer science and software
   engineering education

 * Integration of software visualization tools and development
   environments

 * Program visualization

 * Protocol and log visualization (security, trust)

 * Visualization of parallel programs

 * Visualization of the software development process

 * Visualization of data and processes in applications

 * Graph drawing algorithms for software visualization

 * Visualization of data base schemes

 * Visual debugging

 * 3D software visualization

 * Software visualization on the internet

 * Program analyses and visualization

 * Empirical evaluation of software visualization system effectiveness

 * Visualization of Web Services

 * Visualization of workflow and business processes

Before submitting a poster abstract, please note the following:

- Abstracts should not exceed two US Letter size pages, in ACM two-column format.
  Authors should prepare and electronically submit a PDF version of their poster
  abstract following the instructions for authors of conferences sponsored by ACM SIGGRAPH.

- All abstracts must be submitted by email to [log in to unmask] by June 20, 2006.

- At least one of the abstract authors must be present at the conference (and register
  by July 2nd).

- Notification of acceptance/rejection of abstracts: by June 25, 2006

- Details at: http://www.softvis.org/softvis06/posters.html

All questions pertaining to the SoftVis'06 poster session should
be directed to Eileen Kraemer at [log in to unmask]
