Dear Friends and Colleagues,

(with apologies for cross-postings)

In view of several requests, we extended the deadline to 30 January

Here is the URL for submission:

This year, the conference is being done "in cooperation with ACM."

Accepted papers will, therefore, be available in ACM Digital Library.

In addition, extended versions of select papers will be invited to

of the AIS.

4th Design Science Research in Information Systems and Technologies

(DESRIST) 2009 conference

In-Cooperation with ACM, SIGCHI, SIGMIS, SIGCAS, and SIGDA.

Location: Philadelphia, PA, USA

Date: May 7-8, 2009

Theme: Diversity in Design Science

The conference promises to be an exciting place to meet, connect with

and old colleagues, and a source of new ideas. In addition to multiple

panels, of which one will present an industry-focused view of enterprise

architectures, there are multiple keynote speakers. They include:

* Carliss Baldwin, Harvard Business School (Design Rules)

* John Gero, George Mason University (Design Cognition)

* Jay Kesan, University of Illinois (Intellectual Property in Design)

See more information here:

The call for papers describes the conference in this manner:

The Fourth DESRIST Conference, in-cooperation with ACM, is a meeting

that will bring together researchers and practitioners engaged in Design

Science research in the broadest sense. Questions and concerns in Design

Science, therefore, relate to choosing domains in which individuals and

teams would intervene, the context in which these interventions would

place, and the consequences of these interventions. We invite

(manuscripts, demos and panels) that describe your work in the area of

Design Science research. These include but are not limited to:

* Science of Design and Design Theory

* Philosophical foundations of Design Science

* Evaluation of Design Science Research

* Infrastructure Design

* Design Processes

* Representation for Design

* Design Evolution

* Organizational Design

* Design for Innovation

* Design Economics

* Modularity and Rules in Design

* Architectures for Design

* Meta-Design Control in Design

* Design of Software-Intensive Systems

The domains include (but are not limited to): Software, Services,

Business Processes, Information Systems, User Interfaces, Knowledge

Discovery and Management, Data Mining,Medical, Health and

Social and Virtual Collaboration, Networking and Multimedia Systems,

and Peer-to-Peer Computing, and Pervasive Computing.
