                             3rd CFP
                 - new deadline: 9th July -

                   ECML/PKDD 2006 Workshop on
Ubiquitous Knowledge Discovery for Users (UKDU'06),
                 22 September, Berlin, Germany

Workshop homepage and more details at:
             http://vasarely.wiwi.hu-berlin.de/UKDU06/

We are looking for reports of research on all aspects of a
user-centric view of ubiquitous knowledge discovery (UKD). UKD is KD
in ubiquitous environments, KD from data collected by distributed and
mobile devices, distributed KD (e.g., processing distributed over a
grid), etc.

UKDU'06 is the first dedicated forum for an emerging community: While
events on ubiquitous computing and ubiquitous user modelling exist,
both work on ubiquitous knowledge discovery and work on ubiquitous
knowledge discovery for users have so far existed in diverse
communities. This has been the reason for proposing the Coordination
Action KDubiq within the EU 6FP, and within KDubiq, the working group
on HCI and Cognitive Modelling. The UKDU workshop is part of this
initiative.

Workshop format and student scholarships
----------------------------------------

The workshop will consist of paper presentations and
demos/presentations of answers to the UKDU'06 Yahoo! Music Challenge.

It will feature an invited talk by Ricardo Baeza-Yates, Director of

Santiago, Chile, and Professor at the University of Chile and Pompeu
Fabra University in Barcelona.

The three best student works will be awarded Yahoo! student
