Call for Posters

LA-WEB 2006 Fourth Latin American Web Congress
October 25-27, 2006
Universidad de las Américas-Puebla Cholula, México
http://ict.udlap.mx/la-web2006

LA-Web 2006 is the fourth of a series of refereed conferences aimed at
providing a venue in Latin America for researchers and technologists
from around the world to present, demonstrate and discuss the latest
Web developments. Previous editions of LA-Web have taken place in
Santiago, Chile (2003), São Paulo, Brazil (2004), and Buenos Aires,
Argentina (2005). LA-Web 2006 will be held at the beautiful campus of
the Universidad de las Americas-Puebla, in Central Mexico.

Posters are a great means for researchers and students to share their
work in an interactive forum by displaying the context and preliminary
results of their work in a visual manner. Posters also promote direct
contact among conference participants who share research interests and
make research work visible during the entire conference. Additionally,
specific times for poster discussion will be scheduled as part of the
conference program.

Topics include but are not limited to:
* Browsers and user interfaces
* E-commerce, E-Science, E-government and E-Learning
* Digital libraries
* Multimedia and hypermedia
* Mobility and ubiquitous web access
* Performance, reliability and scalability
* Search and data mining
* Semantic web
* Web engineering
* Collaboration and web communities
* Security, privacy and copyright issues
* XML and web services
* Collaborative tagging
* Blogging
* Web visualization
* Web usability

Poster submissions should provide a concise description of the work to
be presented, reporting original work in English. Submissions should
not exceed two pages. One-page submissions are encouraged. Authors
must follow the IEEE Conference Publications Manuscript Formatting
Guidelines (templates are available from the conference website).

A digital version of all accepted poster submissions will be provided
to all conference participants. Additionally, presenters are advised
to provide printed leaflets or brochures that conference participants
may use for reference during or after the poster sessions. Visually
attractive presentations are expected (consider an 80 cm x 120 cm
area).

Important dates:
Submission of poster proposals: August 25, 2006
Notification of acceptance: September 15, 2006
Final version of accepted posters: September 29, 2006
Poster presentation at LA-Web 2006: October 25-27, 2006
