We will get to see if a company with a traditional software license model
can merge with an open source model. Apple's OS X uses a significant amount
of FreeBSD. They have even contributed back to the open source movement
through the Darwin project (even though the BSD license doesn't require it).

This might be what M$ is really complaining about! Apple in one step has
gained a very reliable world class code base and is adding a user friendly
GUI to top it off. OS X will have a large open source development community
to create new (and port existing) apps to their new OS. For the first time
the Linux/*BSD open source developer will have a _very_ user friendly
GUI to work with. Apple ust might be on to something.
