Lockheed Martin Naval Electronics and Surveillance Systems (LMCO NESS) is
the acknowledged leader in government electronic systems providing technical
support to numerous national and international programs.
Lockheed Martin Human Systems Integration Group is currently seeking Human
Factors Engineers to join our growing team.  We are seeking individuals that

Usability and Design Engineers

We seeking HFE Usability Engineers and HFE Information Technology Design
engineers who are experienced in the design of user interfaces for defense
systems.  This job will require HFE UE individuals to develop advanced
knowledge-centric management systems using advanced technology and interface
techniques.
Responsibilities include:
*       Facilitate and work as a member of project teams, including
presentations to product managers and software engineers, to create
information systems user interfaces for advanced programs.
*       Gather and report on data about users and usability issues from
usability tests and usability field studies.
*       Create user interface designs, prototypes and specifications across
multiple platforms.
*       Design and develop usability analysis using methods such as:
creating user profiles, task/workflow analysis, user scenarios, interviews,
focus groups, product concept testing, and requirements gathering and
validation.
*       Design and develop usability test plans, conduct usability tests,
and provide design recommendations based on test results.
*       Conduct new interface device evaluations and work closely with the
Navy Labs to conduct cognitive decision interface evaluations and
recommendations for new user interfaces, personnel skill sets and training.
*       Developing and maintaining a Database of Advanced Interface
techniques and devices.
*       Working with the cognitive engineers to determine performance
metrics and recommendations for advance applications.

Experience: Minimum B.S./B.A. in Human Factors Engineering, Human Factors
Psychology or related discipline and 2+ years experience. Experience in the
Software Industry, Virtual Interfaces techniques, Voice activation and
recent Internet activity including HTML page and site design desired.
Knowledge of advanced interface techniques and devices as well as graphics
design experience is a plus.
REQUIREMENTS: Understanding and experienced in Human Factors, Cognitive
Psych., Anthropology,or extensive work exp. in  HCI (Human Computer
Interaction) is preferred.  Knowledge and experience in planning and
executing user research and usability tests desired.  Should have experience
working in multi-disciplinary teams (i.e. with creative designers,
technologists, and business analysts).  Strong client, interpersonal,
facilitation & verbal skills.

HUMAN FACTORS ENGINEERS ---
Specializing in Cognitive, Ergonomic, Training and Manpower
HFE COGNITIVE and BEHAVIORAL
Lockheed Martin is seeking leading Cognitive, Ergonomic Human Factors
engineers, preferably with strong multi- disciplinary backgrounds including
MANPRINT and military system experience, to support human-centric system
design solutions for advanced programs.  The advanced programs will require
working in a multi- disciplinary team environment.
Responsibilities include:
*       Developing functional decomposition's and task decomposition's.  The
appropriate Cognitive HFE individuals should have strong skills in
developing task decomposition's and experience working with tools such as
Micro Saint, Imprint or TIDE.
*       Emphasis is to develop advanced knowledge-centric management
systems, therefore the engineers must develop and conduct work load analysis
and individual and team performance evaluations and recommendations.
*       Developing human performance metrics.
*       Gather and report on data about users and work closely with the HFE
Usability Engineers pertaining to usability issues gathered from usability
tests and usability field studies.
*       LMCO HFE engineers will be expected to work closely with the Navy
labs, universities, and leading industry sub-contractors.

Experience: Minimum B.S./B.A. in Human Factors Engineering, Human Factors

HFE ERGONOMIC Specialists
The HFE Ergonomic Engineers should have a strong background in military
system design, Industrial Design, Mechanical Engineering, Rendering, and
CAD.  Experience with anthropometric Modeling tools such as JACK is
required. Shipboard and Navy at-sea experience is a plus.
Responsibilities include:
*       Provide guidance in accordance with military and commercial HFE
standards including MIL-STD 1472, attend meetings, prepare ergonomic
renderings, status reports, conduct studies, and present progress reports to
various LMCO and government program managers.
*       Provide ergonomics support to HFE core projects on an as needed
basis  Ideal candidates must be capable of working with closely with
mechanical engineering and system engineering to develop concept renderings
and ergonomic guideline papers for physiological as well as environmental
guidelines.
*       Working closely with the cognitive engineers to decompose crew
interface, equipment, and room arrangement requirements.

Experience: Minimum B.S./B.A. in Human Factors Engineering/ Ergonomics,
Human Factors Psychology or related discipline and 2+ years experience.
Experience in the Software Industry, Virtual Interfaces techniques,
Knowledge of advanced interface techniques and devices are a plus.

training.  The HFE Training specialist should have a strong background in
advanced training techniques. Knowledge of MANPRINT is a plus.

Responsibilities include:
*       Developing Training programs for navy advanced knowledge management
systems.
*       Developing training metrics, user profiles, skill set requirements.
*       Developing individual and team training organizational performance
evaluations and recommendations.
*       Provide guidance in accordance with military requirements for new
training plans.
*       Provide Personnel and Manpower recommendations for new systems.
