Call for Papers
for two special sessions on
Smart Environment and Systems for Ambient Intelligence
at the HCI International 2007 Conference 22.-27. July 2007,
Beijing, China

Two special sessions on "Smart Environment and Systems for Ambient 
Intelligence" have been reserved for the ERCIM Working Group SESAMI as 
part of the 4. International Conference for Universal Access in Human 
Computer Interaction conference, jointly with the 12. International 
conference on Human Computer Interaction to be held on 22.-27. July 2007 
in Beijing, China. There will be up to six papers per session.
The final full papers should be up to 10 pages and will be published in 
the conference proceedings as part of the Springer Lecture Notes in 
Computer Science (LNCS) series.
The title and the responsible chair for each special session are 
provided below.
Special session 1: SESAMI-I: Interaction Design and Evaluation

The recently established Working Group SESAMI "Smart Environments and 
Systems for Ambient Intelligence" ( is an 
activity of ERCIM - the European Research Consortium for Informatics and 
Mathematics ( These sessions are examples of the 
planned activites of the ERCIM Working Group SESAMI that aims to 
facilitate the continued collaboration of researchers and practitioners 
working on the design, implementation and evaluation of Ambient 
Intelligence systems and applications, on the grounds of on-going, and 
potentially cross-domain, basic and applied, research and development.

Important dates:
Deadline for abstracts: Friday, October 20th, 18:00 CET, 2006.
Notification to authors to submit a full paper to be reviewed:
Monday, October 30th, 2006.
Draft version of paper: December 15, 2006.
Final camera ready version: January 20, 2006.
