LAST CALL FOR DEMONSTRATIONS
ICMI'05 Workshop on Multimodal Interaction for the Visualization
and Exploration of Scientific Data
http://www.science.uva.nl/~elenaz/ICMI/
in conjunction with
the Seventh International Conference on Multimodal Interfaces
http://icmi05.itc.it/
October 3, 2005: Trento, ITALY
The ICMI'05 workshop on Multimodal Interaction for the Visualization and
Exploration of Scientific Data will take place in Trento, Italy on October
3, 2005. This workshop will bring together academic researchers and
practitioners from scientific and information visualization, human-computer
interaction, virtual and augmented reality, ambient and artificial
intelligence, software engineering and psychology to discuss challenges and
opportunities provided by multimodal interaction applied to the
visualization and exploration of scientific data.
Biomedicine, product design, manufacturing process control, phobia therapy,
surgical training, car, ship and flight simulators: these are just a few
examples of the application domains where multimodal interaction has been
already successfully combined with advanced visualization methods.
To discuss existing solutions and systems, we therefore now encourage
researchers and developers to contribute to the special demonstration
session of the workshop. During the demonstration session they will have the
opportunity to present their products or research prototypes of multimodal
interactive systems, while potential users can pose their questions and
requests.
Authors who have already contributed to the workshop oral presentations may
participate in the submission to the demonstration category as well.
Submission details:
A short description of the demo (maximum 4 pages) submitted as a PDF or PS
file is required. The description of all accepted demos will be published in
the workshop proceedings provided by ITC and at the workshop website.
Please send your contributions [log in to unmask] and
[log in to unmask], due to August 18, 2005. For formatting, we
request using ACM SIG Proceedings Templates
(http://www.acm.org/sigs/pubs/proceed/template.html).
The description may also be accompanied by additional visuals and/or video
material. For video submissions please send an email in advance to get
detailed instructions.
Please also note that in the case of acceptance, the authors will need to
bring their own material and equipment to run the demonstration. However,
additional specific technical support may be made available.
