                  November 2-8, 2003    Berkeley CA

The annual conference on multimedia systems and applications will be
held this November in Berkeley, CA.  The conference is composed of
tutorials, a technical program including demonstrations and videos, and
workshops. The technical program includes sessions on: Content Analysis,
Multimedia Streaming, Multimedia for Tiny Devices,3D Multimedia
Environments, Music, Multimedia Coding & Security, Multimedia Authoring,
Surveillance Video, Interacting with Media, and Content-based Retrieval.

Distribution
  + Developing for the Access Grid v2.0 Toolkit
  + Adobe Acrobat: ePaper Tools for the Document Life Cycle

  + Emerging Peer-to-Peer Technology: Fundamentals and Challenges
  + Video Summarization and Event Detection
  + Using Speech Technlogy Effectively
  + Context in Multimedia Information Retrieval
  + Security of Digital Multimedia Content in Distribution and Storage
  + Multimedia Technologies and Applications in the new Internet World
  + TREC Video Retrieval: Goals, Challenges, and Recent Advances

In addition, three workshops will be held in conjunction with the
conference:

  + Workshop on Experiential Telepresence
  + Workshop on Video Surveillance
  + Workshop on Multimedia Information Retrieval
