++++ Call for Late Breaking Results Papers and Demonstrations ++++

ACM SIGCHI Symposium on Engineering Interactive Computing Systems

14 - 17 July 2009 Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA
http://eics2009.org/

Submissions are invited for the Late Breaking Papers and Demonstrations
track at EICS 2009. EICS (the ACM SIGCHI Symposium on Engineering
Interactive Computing Systems) is a new international conference devoted
to all aspects of the engineering of usable and effective interactive
computing systems, ranging from traditional workstation-based
interactive systems to those involving new and emerging modalities (e.g.
gesture), applications (e.g. mobile and ubiquitous games) and
development methods (e.g. extreme programming).

EICS Late Breaking Results papers, of two to six pages in length, can be
substantial reports on, and/or demonstrations of, recent or ongoing
research or development. Late breaking results papers will be published
without distinction along with the conference full papers in the ACM
SIGCHI proceedings of EICS 2009 as well as in the ACM Digital Library
and thus will be more visible and publication worthy than conventional
conference short papers. Descriptions of demonstrations will also be
included in the conference proceedings; videos will be included in the
Digital Library version of the Proceedings.

Submissions should provide either a report of work in progress or
describe a system demonstration related to one of the conference topics
(see http://eics2009.org for details). Except for demonstrations, the
conference program committee will decide if accepted submissions are to
be presented as a talk or as a poster. Please note that the reviewing
timetable is very tight and there is little time for revisions.
Therefore, we recommend that papers when submitted be as near to camera
ready as possible.

Submission deadline and notification dates:

- Deadline for submission: 17 April 2009
- Authors' notification: 1 May 2009
- Deadline for submission of final camera ready copy: 8 May 2009

Instructions to Authors:

All submissions must be prepared according to the standard SIGCHI
publications format (http://www.sigchi.org/chipubform). Submissions must
be between two and six pages in length.

All submissions must be anonymous.

Videos can be provided as a supplement to any submission and are
particularly encouraged in the case of demonstrations. Videos should be
no more than 5 minutes in length and 50 MB in size; they should be
playable on standard PC or Macintosh computers.

Submission should be made via the EICS 2009 conference management system
at https://precisionconference.com/~eics
