International Journal of Mobile Learning and Organization (IJMLO) is a
refereed, multidisciplinary journal that reports on the latest advances in
mobile learning and organization. The IJMLO is available in the Cabell's
Directory of Publishing Opportunities in Management and Education (10th
Edition) and Educational Psychology and Administration (7th Edition).

Special Issue on:

"Emerging Mobile Learning Environments for Industries and Pedagogies"

Guest Editor: Dr. June Wei, University of West Florida

Guest Co-Editor: Dr. A. Ant Ozok, University of Maryland, Baltimore County

Aims and Objectives

Mobile learning (m-learning) is the acquisition of knowledge and skills by
using mobile technologies anywhere and anytime. M-learning covers a wide
range of possible domains by the convergence of emerging mobile technologies
such as wireless communication infrastructure and mobile devices, and mobile
applications such as online learning tools and mobile connectivity. The
Internet and emerging information communication technology infrastructure
improved the quality and reduced costs of the online learning experience in
industries and institutions. The adoption of m-learning will enhance the
flexibility and effectiveness of learning due to its mobile component made
possible by the inheritance of a variety of mobile devices, including cell
phones and Personal Digital Assistants (PDAs). However, the adoption of
m-learning in industries and institutions is still slow and has not been
widely implemented. The development of effective mobile learning
environments is important to accelerate the adoption of m-learning in
industries and education. Therefore, the International Journal of Mobile
Learning and Organization (IJMLO) is organizing a special issue on "Emerging
Mobile Learning Environments for Industries and Pedagogies", which will be a
timely

issue for both industries and institutions who are interested in the
development of effective mobile learning environments.

This special issue provides a global forum for presenting authoritative
references, academically rigorous research and case studies in both
theoretical development and applied research. The purpose of the special
issue is to discuss the effective and timely development of state-of-the-art
mobile learning environments in order to accelerate the adoption of
m-learning in industries and educational institutions.

Specifically, this issue intends to disseminate research and studies in the
emerging m-learning environments including emerging mobile learning
technologies in mobile environments, practical experiences on the design of
m-learning environments, applications of the mobile technologies to
m-learning system development in industry and institutions, economic and
social contexts of m-learning development, and the effective interaction
between users and m-learning environments.

Subject Coverage

The subject coverage of this special issue includes, but is not limited to:
