NordiCHI 2012 Doctoral Consortium

The Doctoral Consortium is a full day pre-conference session taking place on Sunday 14th October 2012 at the IT University of Copenhagen.

The Doctoral Consortium will be a place where lively and useful discussions enable PhD students to receive suggestions about their on-going research. It provides an opportunity for doctoral students to discuss their research both with other students and with leading experts within the field. The consortium will take the form of a full day workshop where established HCI scholars take active part as discussants. The purpose is for students to receive constructive feedback on their thesis work so far, get advice about future developments, and share ideas and experiences with students in related areas.

Participants have advanced beyond the introductory stage in their thesis work, and are actively engaged in the exploration of an HCI topic. The research areas covered by the Doctoral Consortium are the same as the NordiCHI conference generally. Students come from different academic subjects or disciplines, such as interaction design, computer science, cognitive science, and sociology.

Submit a 2-4 pages paper in ACM SIGCHI Publications Format describing your PhD project. Please include a short resume (CV) and a letter of recommendation from your supervisor.

Submissions should NOT be sent through the submissions system, but as emails to [log in to unmask] .

Students accepted will be asked to read at least two other submissions, and should be prepared to give feedback to those students during the consortium. A PowerPoint template will be provided for your presentation at the consortium.

The doctoral consortium is free of charge, with lunch included.
