Work-in-Progress
A Work-in-Progress is a concise report of ongoing work relevant to HCI. The
difference between Works-in-Progress and other submissions is that the work
submitted to the Work-in-Progress track represents work that is ³hot off the
press² or perhaps not quite completed. A significant benefit of a
Work-in-Progress submission is the discussion between the presenter and
conference attendees that will be fostered by the face-to-face presentation
of the work.
This submission category aims to attract participation from a broad range of
disciplines covering a spectrum of topics and methodologies.
Work in Progress will be submitted, reviewed, and published as a short
paper but presented as a poster at the conference. Presentation will be part
of a specific poster session and will allow for more active discussion with
interested HCI delegates.
Submissions must not exceed 6 pages in length and use the BCS format
<http://www.bcs.org/server.php?show=nav.7939> .
Work in Progress Chairs: Dr Mike Just, Glasgow Caledonian and Dr Karen
Renauld, University of Glasgow
Panels

discussion and should highlight the following information
€ the session format
€ the time slot required

€ any other considerations that will help reviewers evaluate your concept
Review Criteria

the audience to respond and further elaborate the ideas. The review criteria
are:
€ likelihood of a lively response from the attendees
€ a novel and interesting perspective
€ a manageable session plan
€ a clear mechanism for audience engagement and interaction
Submissions must not exceed 4 pages in length and use the BCS format

Posters
The interactive posters provide a means for having an overview of your work
visible for the entire conference and a specific session dedicated to
posters. In addition to the static information presented in the poster, you
may wish to bring along an accompanying demo or video. The poster format
offers presenters a forum in which to meet and discuss their work with
others interested in the same topic. It is particularly suited for
descriptions of systems with novel interface features or presenting novel
concepts that might open up interesting discussions with other conference
delegates.
Submissions must not exceed 2 pages in length and use the BCS format
