=================== Call for Participation =======================

The 6th International Conference on Interaction Design and Children
(IDC) invites submissions for short papers, posters, and demo
presentations. IDC is a single-track, focused conference which offers
researchers a unique opportunity for in-depth exchange of ideas,
feedback, and interaction. Authors are encouraged to demonstrate work
in progress and late-breaking research results that show the latest
innovative ideas. We invite presentation of ongoing work and
preliminary results, by experienced academics as well as young
researchers and designers. The short papers as well as demo and
poster tracks are particularly interesting for researchers to get
feedback from experts in the field and fellow researchers. IDC 2007
will look for demonstrations and posters that include work in at
least one of the following broad areas:

EMERGING TECHNOLOGIES FOR CHILDREN (e.g., innovative educational
simulations, online games, accessible fabrication devices, mobile
communications devices, wireless embedded technologies, sensors and
actuators, "smart" materials, authoring/programming tools)

THE IMPACT OF TECHNOLOGIES ON CHILDREN'S LIVES (e.g., in schools, at
home, in public spaces)

NEW RESEARCH METHODS FOR INTERACTION DESIGN AND CHILDREN which give
children a voice in the design, development, and evaluation processes
(e.g., participatory design methods, usability testing, etc.)

The conference will be held at Aalborg University in Aalborg, Denmark.

SUBMISSION INFORMATION

Submissions must report original work that has not been previously
published. The contribution should be made clear in the paper and in
its abstract. Papers making one clear, significant contribution are
more likely to be accepted than papers making several lesser
contributions. The paper must identify and cite published work
relevant to the paper topic. It should explain how the presented work
has built on previous contributions, and should indicate where and
why novel approaches have been adopted.

In addition, in the demo category we also ask for a free-form
description (submitted as additional material) of how the demo will
be run and how participants can perceive it. Submissions must be
complete and formatted according to the ACM SIGCHI Publications
Format. Short papers may be up to 4 pages, while poster and demo
submissions may be up to 2 pages and must be submitted as PDF files
no later than 5 March 2007 at the IDC 2007 Submission web site.
Submissions arriving after the deadline or with improper formatting
or anonymization will not be considered. There will be no exceptions.

For more information see: http://idc2007.cs.aau.dk/submissions.html
