The organizers of The 10th International Conference on Ubiquitous
Computing are delighted to invite you to join us for stimulating
presentations, demonstrations and discussions on the cutting edges of
ubiquitous computing. UbiComp 2008 will be held in Seoul, South Korea,
from 21-24 September 2008.

Ubicomp is an interdisciplinary field of study that includes pervasive,
wireless, embedded, wearable and/or mobile technologies that bridge the
gaps between the digital and physical worlds, useful applications that
incorporate these technologies, infrastructures that effectively support
them, human activities and experiences these technologies facilitate,
and conceptual overviews that help us understand - or challenge our
understanding of - the impact of these technologies. The annual UbiComp
conference is one of the premier international venues in which novel
results in these areas are presented and discussed among leading
researchers, designers, developers and other practitioners in this field.

The main technical program this year includes full papers and notes on
an important and diverse range of topics, including activity sensing,
location sensing, portable and wearable devices, ubicomp methods and
tools, security and privacy, design and ethnography, context-based
systems, location-aware applications, and augmenting everyday life. An
exciting collection of demonstrations, posters, videos and workshops
will also be included in the overall program.

Dr. Shim Yoon, Vice President of Samsung SDS and Head of the Korean
"U-City" project, will lead off the conference with a keynote
presentation on "Realizing the Ubiquitous City", in which she will
highlight the urban paradigm shift, some of u-city practices in Korea,
and the ubiquitous services offered by the city.

Registration for the conference is now open. The early advance
registration deadline is *Friday, August 22*, and we encourage all
prospective attendees to register soon in order to take advantage of the
discounted rates.

More details about our technical program, and links to our online
registration page, can be found on the conference web site:

We look forward to discovering and creating the future of ubiquitous
computing with you at UbiComp 2008!
