WHAT
This full-day tutorial introduces systems design from the perspective of
cognitive process analysis and modeling. It describes cognitive issues
involved in user interface design, as well as the benefits of using various
types of cognitive modeling tools (GOMS, NGOMSL, CPM-GOMS) to
describe and predict human performance in using complex, dynamic
systems. The tutorial will include examples drawn from industry as well
as hands-on practice in applying the techniques learned.

WHEN: Monday, May 17th 1999. The day before the CHI'99 Technical Program
begins.
