We are glad to invite you to submit a paper to WiMob 2007.

The final submission deadline for the conference is over, however a  
SPECIAL SESSION about HEALTH CARE & UBIQUITOUS COMPUTING will be held  
during the conference.

The submission deadline for this session is May 10, 2007 (Final  
manuscript due:  June 05, 2007).

Call for Papers (WiMob 2007)

Special Session - HEALTH CARE & UBIQUITOUS COMPUTING
October 8-10, 2007, New York, USA

• DESCRIPTION

WiMob 2007 addresses three main areas : Wireless Communications,  
Mobile Networking, Ubiquitous Computing and Applications. Indeed  
nowadays networks, microprocessors, memory chips, smart sensors and  
actuators are faster, cheaper and smaller than ever. They are  
becoming available anywhere, anytime. Current advances in such  
enabling technologies for ubiquitous computing let foresee novel  
applications and services for improving and making healthcare  
services available across boundaries in time, organization, and  
place. This special session will explore the issues related to  
ubiquitous computing taken in the context of healthcare applications.

• SCOPE

The topics of interest include but are not limited to:

Health care and ubiquitous computing

•Intelligent Environments / Smart Homes
•Human-Machine Interface / Ambient Intelligence
•Middleware Support for Smart Home and Health Telematics Services
•Tele-Assistance and Tele-Rehabilitation
•Context Awareness / Autonomous Computing
•Wearable Sensors / Home Health Monitoring
•Medical Data Collection and Processing
•Modeling of Physical and Conceptual Information in Intelligent  
Environments
•Vision / Hearing / Cognitive Devices
•Security and Telematics

•  AUTHOR'S INSTRUCTIONS

Authors must submit original papers, full and unpublished nor  
submitted for publication elsewhere.

Preferred maximum paper length is 8 printed pages (10-point font)  
including figures, graphics and tables. However, papers for review of  
up to 9 pages in length will also be accepted, although accepted  
papers exceeding 8 pages will be charged an overlength fee of $100  
for the 9th page. Under no circumstances may any submission exceed 9  
pages. Papers in excess of 9 pages shall not be considered for review  
nor publication.

• GUIDELINE FOR SUBMISSION

Papers must be written in English and should follow the style  
described in the template file available in both MS Word (.DOC)  
format or Adobe Acrobat (.PDF) format (download the template at  
http://domus.usherbrooke.ca/wimob2007/). No other formats will be  
accepted. Your paper must be printable in order to be accepted. The  
paper's cover page must include the following information:

     • Title of paper
     • Authors' names and affiliations
     • Contact author's name and address (both postal and electronic)
     • A short abstract
     • Keywords
     • Paper topic area

All the submissions must be sent to [log in to unmask]  
before Thursday May 10, 2007.

  • IMPORTANT DATES

     Submission due:  May 10, 2007

     Notification of acceptance:  May 20, 2007

     Final manuscript due:  June 05, 2007

     Registration and full payment due:  June 15, 2007
