But it saves vertical space in the column shared by the four
categories: "Related ...", "Featured ...", "Hot New ..." and "Top ..."
articles without the server round trip.

I found interesting the labeling of the toggler. "Click to view" and
"Click to hide".
The usual (among geeks) arrowhead is still there but displaced by the
much-more-explicit text. I imagine a fight there.

See also the notorious affordance of the toggler: it's almost the one
and only 3D-shaded device in an otherwise flat page.

It works like a menu as seen in this example:

but it has some advantages, as it lacks the annoying displacement of
the clicked item and also it lets the user keep more than one item
opened.
