Call for Papers
Affect and Behaviour Related Assistance
25-27 May 2011, Crete, Greece
In the frame of the
4th International Conference on Pervasive Technologies
Related to Assistive Environments – PETRAe
Submission Deadline: March 01, 2011
WORKSHOP THEME
The fourth workshop of this kind will continue the interesting debate of
ideas and solutions for supporting people in their daily environment
with technologies respecting and taking into account cognitive,
emotional, and behavioral aspects of the person. Reaching further, we
want to expand the discussion from mainly home-based support systems to
business applications and mobile solutions, opening many more
possibilities for support and assistance of people in their daily life.
Persons in need of such assistance technologies are not only elderly
people, but also or maybe even more those persons who need to balance
work, family, and care for elderly relatives.
To provide assistance that really supports a person in a specific
situation and context requires novel techniques for detecting situations
in which assistance or attention is needed. Information need to be
collected from many different sources like sensors or the Internet.
Fusion and integration techniques as well as reasoning and visualization
technologies for this new blend of data are required to allow for
comprehensive solutions. This workshop wants to provide a platform for
researchers and product developers alike to exchange and propose new
ideas, discuss novel technologies and approaches, and not least to show
latest developments and project results.
