Does anyone know of any studies or papers written on location-based
navigation (i.e. using "rooms" for different parts of a web site -- the
"library" for links to references, the "lounge" for a chat room, etc...).
Specifically, I'm looking for ways to explain that this is an outmoded and
clunky method of site navigation.

Thanks,
