I recommend Ginny Redish's book
http://redish.net/writingfortheweb/index.php/about-the-book/ - I recently
used it to help prepare a lecture about writing for the web for health
communication and it was perfect. I supplemented it with a few of Jakob
Nielsen's articles such as
http://www.useit.com/alertbox/percent-text-read.html.
