Postdoc in the area of computer analysis of human behavior (computer
vision)
for 38 hours per week (reference CAHBTG2012)
The research will focus on the development of new algorithms for human
behavior analysis. Topics are facial expression recognition, head pose
estimation, gaze tracking, age and gender recognition, human-body tracking,
activity monitoring, affective computing etc. The project is funded by a
grant from the Dutch Organisation for Scientific Research (NWO).
The position is within the Intelligent Systems Lab Amsterdam (ISLA) at the
University of Amsterdam and will be supervised by prof. dr. Theo Gevers,

Requirements
Applicants must have a PhD degree in computer vision or a closely related
area. In addition, a successful candidate should have:
+ good knowledge of human behavior and computer vision;
+ good knowledge of machine learning methods;
+ knowledge of modern image processing and human body tracking;
+ strong math skills;
+ good oral and written communication skills;
+ strong programming skills in at least one of the following languages:
Matlab, C, C++ or Java;

Appointment
The appointment will be full time (38 hours a week) for a period of one
year. The salary is in accordance with the university regulations for
academic personnel. The postdoc salary will range from € 2,861,-- up to a
maximum of € 3,755,- before tax per month (scale 10) based on a full-time
appointment. The holiday allowance is 8% of the annual gross income and
8.3% end of the year bonus. The collective employment agreement of Dutch
universities is applicable.
Duration of the position: one year. Starting date: ranging from 1 May –
1July, 2012.
