Interaction Design and Creative HCI Projects

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Call for quickfire poster presentations: One Minute - One Poster!

Create11 is offering you the opportunity to show off your creative talents and innovative interactive projects. We are extending the call for digital posters giving you a great opportunity to discuss your work. Posters will be shown on-screen, and each presenter will have one whole minute to talk about their work. If that sounds challenging, don't worry - there will be plenty of time for networking afterwards to talk about your work in a slightly more relaxed way.

Submission Format

Digital posters should be submitted as one pdf file (max 8MB) using a landscape format. Your work will be displayed on a large flat screen (the resolution is 1920 x 1080). There is no template for this type of submission. Feel free to use your creative skills to describe your work. If your poster is selected, at least one presenter must register to attend the symposium.

Submissions can cover a range of topics, for example:
· Creative or novel interaction projects
· Case study reports
· Work in progress
· Design methodologies
· Practice overviews and approaches
· Evaluation techniques
· Theoretical perspectives
· New ideas and critical analysis

Please email your poster submission (One page, landscape, pdf file, max 8MB) to: [log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]> Deadline 29th April

Create11: The interaction design symposium
23rd June 2011 :: Shoreditch House, London, UK

In order to build on last year’s successful three-day conference in Edinburgh, the 2011 event will be a one-day forum to discuss creative practice in interaction design in preparation for a full-scale conference in 2012. The programme will include speakers, presentations, quickfire showcases, a panel discussion and possibly a studio visit too.

The Language of Creativity

The theme of this year’s event is The Language of Creativity. The CREATE committee want to encourage discussion around the issues of how creativity is interpreted and used in collaborative and interdisciplinary interaction design projects. Critical to this dialogue is the involvement of both researchers and practitioners. The symposium will provide an opportunity to share project experiences and emerging themes in this hybrid field. The CREATE committee invites examples of novel design practice, methods and ideas from the commercial, academic and public sectors. Examples of web, mobile, product, artistic and service-based design are all encouraged.
