Applications are invited for a two-year postdoctoral fellow position in
The Human Centered Technologies Group in the Department of Computer
Science at the University of British Columbia.

There are two ongoing project areas being advertised, with some overlap
between the two. A postdoctoral fellow could participate in one or both:

Project Area 1: Interactive technologies for older adults -- example
ongoing projects include online self-administered cognitive testing,
touch-based interaction, and designs that promote learning.

Project Area 2: Personalized user interfaces -- adaptive, adaptable, and
mixed-initiative approaches to interface design; example ongoing
projects include personalized task management, adaptive touch
interaction, and adaptive home screens for mobile devices.

Application Criteria:
--------------------------
Start dates are flexible, but the successful candidate should be able to
start before July 2014, or as soon as possible thereafter.

Applicants must have relevant research skills and experience,
demonstrated by a corresponding high publications standard, which will
include at least one of the following:

- interface design and implementation
- quantitative methods, including experimental design
- qualitative methods
- machine learning
- experience working with older users

Application submission:
--------------------------------

[log in to unmask]:

- a brief letter of application, clarifying the projects area(s) of
interest and fit to the area(s)
- a curriculum vitae
