==  DOCTORAL CONSORTIUM  ==

The NDM11 Doctoral Consortium provides an opportunity for doctoral students to explore and develop their research interests in a more restricted and casual workshop, under the guidance of a panel of recognised researchers and professors in the field of NDM. The goal of this Doctoral Consortium is to help students with their thesis works and plans by providing feedbacks and general advices in a constructive and international atmosphere. We invite students who feel they would benefit from this kind of feedback on their dissertation work to apply for this opportunity to share their work both with others students and seniors in the field.
The doctoral consortium will take place in Marseille, France on May 21nd. In this workshop, students will present their research advances, focusing on main theme of their thesis, what they have achieved so far and how they plan to continue their work. Then, a time will be reserved for discussion and feedback from both seniors and others participants.

The topic scope for submission to the doctoral consortium is the same as those listed in the NDM11 call for papers. The format is the following one:
•	Be no more than 2,000 words including the references or 6 pages max in length including the illustrations.
•	Conform to the NDM11 paper format requirements.
•	Include a structured abstract of no more than 150 words, without reference.
Doctoral paper describes the work in progress; it should also outline what work remains to be done for the dissertation. Things to consider are:
•	the expected contribution to the field;
•	the original idea or thesis statement;
•	the problem domain and the specific problem addressed;
•	a brief overview of related work;
•	the methodological approach;
•	research carried out and results so far.

Submissions will be judged upon clarity, originality of the submitted materials in the context of NDM topics.
All submissions will be reviewed by the doctoral consortium chairwomen and will be assisted by consortium panellists. If accepted, an applicant may be asked to make minor clarifications and edits to their research summary before the final camera-ready version is due. The accepted doctoral consortium submissions will be published in the NDM11 proceedings in a specific chapter.

Pr. Christine Chauvin (Lab-STICC, UMR CNRS 6285, Université de Bretagne Sud) and Françoise Anceaux (LAMIH-PERCOTEC, UMR CNRS 8201) will take on the management of the NDM 2011 Doctoral Consortium.
