You may want to examine:
http://www.epssinfosite.com/popup_msgs.htm

and
http://www.devx.com/upload/free/features/webbuilder/1999/wb0799/bf0799/bf079
9.asp

for two different examples. The first reference describes how to implement a
pop-up help/validation message. The second uses JavaScript to flip a graphic
when validation fails. Both techniques have their drawbacks but in a number
of ways are an improvement over the ever-annoying JavaScript alert box.

Subject: error messages

I'm doing some research on effective ways to present error messages in web
based apps... those generated when the user has missed a field, etc. Has
anyone seen creative solutions?
