The ICCE 2004 Doctoral Student Consortium aims to help doctoral students
who have rough proposals of their thesis, or who have already conducted
some work and have preliminary results yet need guidance for further work.
Senior researchers will discuss with these PhD students.


* Submission

The doctoral students who want to attend the ICCE 2004 Doctoral Student
Consortium need to submit a 4-page proposal that describes the research
issue and its significance, outlines the proposed method of study and analysis,
and indicates expected results. The proposal should indicate the current status
of work, and describe any actual results obtained if appropriate. All
submissions should include a cover page including name, affiliation, address,
phone, fax, E-mail address, advisor's name, and expected date of completion
(estimates are acceptable). Those who have submitted their papers to the main
conference can also submit to the Doctoral Student Consortium (but summarized
to 4 pages). Papers will be printed in a separate proceedings of the Doctoral
Student Consortium. These proceedings are only regarded as material to enable
the discussion of the Doctoral Student Consortium. The submission format should
be MS Word.

All attendees of the doctoral student consortium will be required to register
for ICCE 2004 conference and pay appropriate fee. Besides, there may be a charge
of up to US$ 20 to cover some of the costs related to doctoral students consortium.


* Important Dates

27 August 2004 :                  Proposal submissions due (extended)
17 September 2004 :               Announcement of acceptance
1 October 2004 :                  Final version proposals due
29 November 2004 (9 am - 5 pm):   ICCE 2004 Doctoral Student Consortium
