About eden and eden 2006 conference 

eden is an association created in 2004 in Sophia Antipolis, France, whose goal is to develop energy awareness in Europe through the support and development of innovations fostering a responsible use of energy. 
eden's ambition is to create an ecosystem aimed at enhancing the emergence of behavioural and technological innovations in the area of energy in France and in Europe. To this end, eden facilitates the synergies among the academic world, large energy business groups, SMEs, public bodies, local authorities and private and public investment bodies. 
eden organises its 3rd international conference on energy awareness & innovation which will take place in Sophia Antipolis on the French Riviera on October 12th &13th  2005. This event should gather between 150-180 people from various backgrounds (academia, industry, politics, local authorities, capital investment, ...) to successfully exchange on themes related to energy, according to the following program structure:

About Workshop 4: Persuasive Technologies to Support Energy Awareness 

The area of Persuasive Technologies (also known as Computerized persuasion, or captology), explore the design and applications of interactive products created for the purpose of changing people attitudes or behaviours in some way. Relevant technologies include web sites, video games, smart environments and mobile platforms (PDA, phones, ..). Persuasive Technologies find applications in many areas in life (health and fitness, education and training, sustainability, communication...). 
As part of eden conference on energy awareness and innovation, a workshop (WS4) will focus on Persuasive Technologies used for the purpose of improve energy and mobility behaviours of people. Examples of projects in this area will be presented (15 minutes per presentations). A discussion among all the participants will follow on how to facilitate marketing and consumer adoption of such applications.
This work group aims at gathering a between 15 and 20 participants, from various backgrounds (innovative project owners from academia or industry, industrial or political decision makers, investors...) with a motivation and interest in building a sustainable collaboration beyond the workshop.
