Special Issue on Media Spaces
Submissions due: August 31, 1998
Media spaces are large, shared, interactive, media-rich environments
that use a combination of 2-D/3-D graphics, video, sound, speech,
images and networking to create compelling interfaces for a
variety of applications including learning, entertainment,
social interaction and business.
Original, unpublished research and practice & experience papers are
sought that address issues in the design, implementation, and
evaluation of media spaces. Topics include, but are not limited to:
* Networked media (Graphics, Audio, Video and Images)
* Software architectures for media spaces
* Enhancing presence in media spaces with multimedia and multi-sensory
technologies
* Knowledge-based media space modelling
* Manual and automated media space design facilities
* Navigation, interaction, and collaboration in large media spaces
* Novel applications in visualising, exploring and manipulating media spaces
* Evaluation of the effectiveness of media spaces, and their impact on
users, applications, and organisations
