PhD Studentships in HCI
City University London is offering a range of full-time PhD
studentship awards that will last 3 years. One of research areas
covered by these studentship awards is Human Computer Interaction.
Whilst applications to undertake research in any area of HCI are
welcome, applications in the following areas are particularly welcome:
Social aspects of computing and gaming
--------------------------------------
- Studying and modeling (quantitatively or qualitatively) human
behaviour in computer games and 3D virtual worlds (e.g. SecondLife,
World of Warcraft)
- Studying and modeling (quantitatively or qualitatively) social
support in computer games and 3D virtual worlds (e.g. SecondLife,
World of Warcraft)
- Computer Mediated Communication and the application of innovative
methods in analysing them
- Analysis of online Social Networks (e.g. facebook, myspace etc.)

Inclusive Design
----------------
- HCI design for the elderly and people with special needs
- Modeling web navigation as it applies to the elderly and people with
