US Ignite program


The US Ignite initiative ( seeks to catalyze
application development that utilizes next generation network
infrastructures. This includes partnerships with US cities that have
ultra-high bandwidth installations and on-going design competitions hosted
by Mozilla ( Some sample application

US Ignite Application Summit


The annual application summit is a three day event to be held in Chicago
June 24-26, including workshops on designing for US Ignite, updates on
existing projects, and partnering opportunities with the Gigabit cities,
growing US Ignite teams, and related funding sources. 



Travel Awards


US Ignite is eager to involve more human-centered designers and developers
from our CHI community. In partnership with the National Science Foundation,
they are providing $1,000 travel awards for those interested in attending
the annual application summit. Applications are due May 15th on the
registration website with award decisions announced by May 20th. For
