I have seen so many people react the same way when I tell them that their web site or intranet is breaking disability discrimination laws, I wondered if anyone has ever tried to tie it up to the five stages of grief? It would go something like this (based on the Wikipedia article for the Kübler-Ross model):

Denial: The initial stage: "It can't be important. Where will we get the funding?"

Anger: "Why our site/intranet? Other companies do the same things all the time."

Bargaining: "Okay, if we just put ALT tags on the pictures that should do it."

Depression: "Have you seen the WCA guidelines? We'll never understand them, let alone implement them."

Acceptance: "It's going to be OK."

Has anyone else seen these kinds of reactions? Does this model seem to fit with other people's experience?
