======================================================================
The annual ACM International Conference on Multimedia Retrieval (ICMR) offers a great opportunity for exchanging leading-edge multimedia retrieval ideas among researchers, practitioners and other potential users of multimedia retrieval systems. This conference, puts together the experience of former ACM CIVR and ACM MIR series, is set up to improve the state of the arts in multimedia (text, image, video, audio) retrieval.
Based on the Chinese Computing Federation Conference Ranking (2013): ACM ICMR is the #1 Multimedia Retrieval conference in the world and the #4 conference in the category of multimedia and graphics.
ICMR has grown over the past few years to become a fully-fledged conference, attracting over one hundred participants, with several different contribution formats:
- Full papers (December 2)
- Short-papers (December 2)
- Doctoral symposium (December 14)
- Tutorials (December 15)
- PhD showcase (December 14)
We welcome innovative work from doctoral students working on topics related to multimedia and information retrieval. Ongoing work is also welcomed in the new PhD showcase format. The PhD showcase will be held in parallel with the main conference and aims at providing a forum to PhD students to present a recent, ongoing work and get feedback from their peers and senior researchers in an informal and friendly setting.
And, of course, there will be a great social programme, including the welcome reception at the Glasgow City Chambers, dinner at the Glasgow Science Centre, a traditional Scottish céilidh dance in Glasgow’s oldest bar, and a Whiskey Tour at a local distillery.
Please extend this invitation to your colleagues and group members and we hope to see you at ACM ICMR 2014.
Best wishes,
