Developing HCI Education Crossing Asia
Workshop at ACM CHI 2015 Conference, Seoul, Korea
Submission Deadline: 19 January 2015 (extended)
Notifications: 13 February 2015
Workshop: 18 April 2015
Full details:
This workshop will bring together an interested group of HCI students, academics, and practitioners
to share their experiences in learning and teaching HCI knowledge about practice and research, particularly focused on Asia.
During this workshop, we will consider multiple factors crossing economic, cultural and social aspects in Asian countries,
and help local Asian HCI educators to learn: what is the core body of knowledge in HCI;
how can HCI curricula and programs be created and offered;
what are the right approaches, platforms and tools to teach students from different disciplines,
and supply them with high quality HCI education opportunities in the near future.
We welcome position papers on a variety of topics, including (but not limited to):
    -Knowledge of HCI
    -HCI curricula
    -HCI educational processes, teaching or learning methods
    -Platforms and tools for HCI education
    -Useful ways to teach students from different disciplines
    -Master and PhD programs in HCI
    -Teaching case studies
Each paper will be reviewed by workshop program committee members.
At least one author of each accepted position paper must attend the workshop to introduce their work,
share their experiences and join in discussions.
All participants must register for the workshop and for at least one day of the CHI main conference.
Selected position papers will be extended and published in a special issue of a journal or magazine,
such as SIGCHI Interactions magazine.
Position papers should be prepared in the CHI Extended Abstracts format and not exceed 6 pages.
