Call for participation
The Chinese CHI 2015 program committee are looking for novel,
thought-provoking, evocative, sensor-rich interactive art experiences that
are created by a diverse and broad group of creative practitioners and/or

As part of Chinese CHI 2015, the special track in Chinese CHI interactive
arts and design is looking for a broad range of interactive design and
artworks that contribute to interactive design and artworks related to
Chinese cultural and communities.

The work can include but is not limited to site-specific installations,
interactive artworks, online works and performances in the visual arts,
electronic literature, music and video. Works that engage with public space
and interdisciplinary projects are particularly encouraged.

Important date
Papers are due: 7  February 2015
Notifications of review results will be sent on: 1 March 2015
Publication-ready deadline: 15 March 2015

Submission Guideline
Proposed artworks can include many different forms including sound, vision,
performance, dance and theatre, as well as works that are not so easily
categorized. Leonardo Transactions is concerned with art, so we will not
accept design papers or  pure HCI, the papers can be about HCI and art
(interactive art) for example or any  other science/technology art

The submission should include the following:
• Description of the work: including written texts, images, sound, video
• Artist's statement: giving the background to the ideas and creation
• Inspiration, sources, materials and any research related to the artwork
• Artist Profile: short bio, track record including previous exhibitions

Papers must be in the Leonardo paper format and it must be no longer than 2

Review Process
Submissions will be fully reviewed by independent experts. Top tier
accepted papers will be published in a special issue on interactive arts
and design in Leonardo Transactions (MIT Press, To meet Leonardo Transactions
standards, the papers will undergo a two-stage review process (see
SUBMISSION DEADLINES above).  Authors of papers that are
determined to be acceptable with minor revisions during a first review
cycle will be invited to submit a revised version for a second review
cycle. Only papers that are accepted in this second review cycle will
appear in the journal issue.

Chinese CHI 2015 special track accepts papers in English only.

Please note that the maximum size of your submission should not exceed
One author of each accepted submission must register for the conference
before the
early registration deadline in order for the final paper version to appear
in the
conference proceedings and the journal issue.

Note: all the spending relates to the works’ shipping and installation has
to be paid by the authors themselves. Chinese CHI will not provide grant
and funding to the  participants. There will be an exhibition space
available for the interactive design and
artworks at the conference.
