Important Dates
===============

* Submission Deadline: September 15th, 2014 (11:59PM UTC-12)
* Author Notification: September 21st, 2014
* Final Manuscript Due: October 5th, 2014
* Workshop Date: October 26th, 2014

Scope
=====

Ubiquitous computing refers to computing present anywhere and everywhere. The environment supports a digital network of a large variety of independent devices which are constantly producing a rich stream of data. Due to the size constraints of many devices utilized in a ubiquitous-computing environment and their high reliance on constant sensing and communication, creating energy-aware systems, applications, services, and networks have become both challenging and essential.

EnergyUbi'14 workshop aims to bring together researchers from all areas of ubiquitous computing to explore the possibilities and challenges of energy awareness and management in a ubiquitous-computing environment.

Topics of Interest
==================

We solicit paper submissions in the following contexts (not an extensive list):

* Energy-efficient context- and location-aware computing
* Challenges and opportunities for power profiling in sensor-rich environments
* Energy-performance tradeoffs in sensor-rich environments
* Power and performance benchmark analysis for ubiquitous computing
* Evaluation of services and applications in a ubiquitous-computing environment
* Computing workloads for ubiquitous computing
* Crowd sourcing and collaborative computing
* Energy-efficient networks for ubiquitous computing communication
* Power and performance issues on data processing in ubiquitous computing
* Energy- and power-saving modules for ubiquitous computing

Paper Submission
================

EnergyUbi'14 invites contributions in the form of short papers not exceeding 5 (five) pages. Submissions can be research papers, studies, experience reports, and manuscripts discussing work-in-progress on Energy-Aware Ubiquitous Computing. Papers must not have been accepted elsewhere for publication or be under review at another workshop, conference, or journal.

All submitted papers should follow the IEEE Conference Publishing Services (http://www.ieee.org/conferences_events/conferences/publishing/templates.html) formatting instructions.

Authors should submit their manuscripts using the EasyChair (http://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=energyubi2014). Submission of a paper should be regarded as an undertaking that, should the paper be accepted, at least one of the authors will register and attend the workshop to present their work. Each submitted paper will be peer-reviewed and comments will be provided to the authors.
