We invite applications for our MSc Human-Centred Systems degree course at
City University London. This intellectually stimulating course equips
students with the latest theories and practices to research, design and
evaluate novel interactive systems and technologies and to undertake and
lead creative Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) and User Experience (UX)
activities and projects. The course is taught over 12 months (Full Time) or
24 months (Part Time).
MSc Human-Centred Systems at City provides:
Teaching excellence:
- Engaging and informative teaching delivered by accomplished academics
from the Centre for Human-Computer Interaction Design, providing a healthy
balance of theory and practice from a university that prides itself on
promoting ‘academic excellence for business and the professions.’
- A maximum class size of 40 students in 2015/16 to ensure a
staff-student ratio that enables the highest-quality education.
- A vibrant, friendly and supportive community and the opportunity for
students to get involved in Centre activities, including the HCID open day
– our annual mini-conference with talks from UX professionals and academics.
Professional relevance:
- An exciting programme of guest lectures and seminars and a dedicated
series of HCS tutorials led by industry professionals. Recent HCS tutorials
have featured industry speakers from eBay and Google.
- A strong track record of placing gradates in roles such as user
experience consultant, information architect, interaction designer,
usability specialist and accessibility specialist in leading business
consultancies, digital agencies, IT companies, government and commercial
organisations.
- The option of a 6 month internship after the taught part of the course
has been completed, which provides valuable work experience and increases
employability.
- Use of City Interaction Lab - our usability lab, equipped with the
latest technologies including eye tracking equipment, screen capture
software, mobile testing stations and more.
Fees for study in 2015/16 are £9,000 for UK/EU students and £14,500 for
Overseas students. A £2,000 automatic non-means tested scholarship is
available for UK/EU applicants.
