CALL FOR WORKSHOP AND TUTORIAL PROPOSALS

Dear All,

AVI’08 (http://hci.uniroma1.it/avi2008/) will be a forum for workshops and
tutorials on emerging as well as established topics relevant to
Human-Computer Interaction research and practice. Workshops organisation
will be shared between AVI organisers and the proposers, while tutorials
will be handled by AVI organisers. Proposals will be evaluated by the
steering and organizing committees. Decisions will be communicated to the
proposers by December 20th 2007. The actual activation of workshops or
tutorials is subjected to the presence of an adequately sizeable
attendance.

All Workshop and Tutorial proposals should be sent electronically, before 
November 15th 2007, to:

Workshops -The aims of the workshops are to develop understanding, to
exchange experiences, to build research communities and to help to
characterise the direction of future developments (e.g., interfacing the
web, electronic commerce, etc.). If you are interested in proposing a
workshop, please send a description of up to 1.000 words stating title of
the workshop, curriculum of the presenter, objective and significance of
the workshop, potential participants, expected audience, format and
duration of the workshop (half-day or full-day), proceedings (planned
publication type -paper version, CD- and Publisher) and possibility of
separate funding for the workshop (e.g. sponsors).

Tutorials - Tutorials are meant to provide participants with new insights
in the area of advanced visual interfaces, on issues such as methodologies
for design and evaluation of interfaces, new forms of interaction, formal
approaches. If you are interested in proposing a tutorial, please send a
description of up to two pages with details concerning title of the
tutorial, curriculum of the presenter, content, prerequisites and profile
of potential attendees, technical requirements, type and quantity of
available material to distribute. Tutorials are expected to cover 3 hours.

Important Dates

Final date for electronic submission of proposal: November 15th 2007.
Notification of proposal acceptance: December 20th 2007.
