A number of graduate research assistantships are available to students
admitted to the Department of Cognitive Science at UCSD. These assistantships
are associated with research efforts in the Distributed Cognition and Human
Computer Interaction Laboratory. The deadline for graduate admissions
applications is January 14, 2000.
Research in the UCSD Distributed Cognition and Human Computer Interaction
Laboratory ranges across cognitive science. Members of the lab are
particularly interested in understanding interactions among people and
technology. Current projects involve design of multiscale information
visualizations, development of a distributed cognition based theory of
annotation, and understanding the development of pilot expertise in commercial
aviation.
