British HCI 2015: Final Call for Main Track Papers
--------------------------------------------------------------------
*** Breaking news: closing keynote will be: Julian Assange
*** Breaking news: opening keynote will be: Chris Csikszentmihalyi
*** Main Track Paper deadline is 2nd March ***

The 29th British Human Computer Interaction Conference (http://hci2015.bcs.org/) will be held in Lincoln (UK) from 13th-17th July 2015.

The theme for HCI 2015 is digital society, and the role interactive technology plays in mediating our civic lives. This is inspired by the 800th anniversary, in 2015, of the sealing of the Magna Carta, an event viewed as an international cornerstone of liberty and that one that challenged society's relationship with authority. Lincoln is home to one of only four surviving copies of the Magna Carta and will take a major role in the 800th anniversary celebrations coinciding with our hosting of HCI 2015. The theme reflects the increasing public consciousness of how interactive technologies fundamentally affect our privacy, rights, and relationships with authority, government and commerce. Whilst the conference will, of course, welcome contributions from all aspects of HCI research we will particularly encourage submissions of all types that focus on social renewal, activism, democracy, and grassroots innovation. We are particularly excited therefore that both Julian and Chris can join us to bring us their views and inspiration around these topics (Julian will join us by videolink).

The deadline for main track (full and position papers) is less than two weeks away. For full details see http://hci2015.bcs.org/participation/. Full technical paper submissions will be variable in length between 6-10 pages and will describe complete pieces of research that make a distinct contribution to the field of HCI. Position Papers will a maximum 2 pages and are intended to provide authors with a route to speaking at the conference without the requirement to write and submit a full, conventional technical paper. Both Full and Position Papers will be given equal time for oral presentation in the main track of the conference. Submissions must be anonymised and should follow the eWiC template. Please submit via the EasyChair link on the conference website by 5:00 p.m GMT on March 2nd 2015. All submissions will be peer reviewed by the Program Committee and published in the ACM Digital Library.
