Successful scholarship awardees will be offered a fee waiver at the EU
fee rate for a period of up to four years. Applicants are also
guaranteed up to 9 hours paid teaching per week. Further information can

The School of Information and Communication Studies (UCD ICS)*
UCD ICS is part of the iSchool caucus and its research is highly
interdisciplinary. Much of the work is strongly anchored in the human
sciences, focusing on the interaction between people, information and
society in technological and communicative contexts. It has a strong
base in theories from across the disciplines, uses both qualitative and
quantitative research methods and is interdisciplinary in its research
outputs and focus.
Core areas of Research interest include:
• Digital Curation and Digital Heritage Interactions
• Communication with and through technology (e.g. speech
interface interaction, human-machine communication)
• Theoretical Foundations of Information Science
• Information Behaviour and Information Seeking
• Open data and society
